Known for her work in the jazz and blues genres, this Texas-born singer, songwriter, and musician recorded four studio albums between 1997 and 2005: Les Couleurs du Noir et Blanc, The Other Place, Close Encounter, and Sunshine.
Before Fame
Beginning in her early childhood years, she played piano at her church, and at the young age of eleven, she became a member of a local jazz band. By sixteen, she was performing on the Hammond electric organ with a music group called Larry Stanley and the One Eyed Jacks.
Trivia
During the mid 1980s, she lived on the island of Saint Martin and performed with a music group called Tropix.
Family Life
A native of East Texas, she later performed and recorded music in California, New Mexico, France (where she lived during the late 1990s and early 2000s), and the Caribbean. Her brother, Donny Blair, also had a career as a jazz musician; her husband, Jack Lestrade, worked as a visual artist.
Associated With
She staged New Year's Eve and charity/disaster relief concerts with her contemporary and friend, English vocalist Gary Brooker.
