Joshua Elder

About

Journalist, lecturer, and writer known primarily for his work in comic books and graphic novels. He is best known as the co-creator and writer of the graphic novel series, "Mail Order Ninja." He is also an advocate for literacy and education through comics, founding the nonprofit organization Reading With Pictures to promote the use of graphic novels in classrooms.

Before Fame

He earned a degree in film from Northwestern Illinois University. Many of the ideas behind Mail Order Ninja were developed during a challenging period in his life, as he coped with treatments for Hodgkin's lymphoma.

He was once dragged behind a speeding pickup truck, a story he now shares with a dose of humor.
