Before Fame

After earning his bachelor's degree in music from South Carolina's College of Charleston, he received his graduate degree from Massachusetts' New England Conservatory.

An arts critic for the London newspaper The Times lauded Lemos' performance in a production of the Purcell opera The Fairy-Queen.

Family Life

He spent his early years in Bage, Brazil, and later lived and worked in the United States and Europe.

Associated With

Accompanied by the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Lemos performed at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in a production of Grammy-winning composer Osvaldo Golijov's opera Ainadamar.
