Jorge Álvarez Máynez

Politician and Citizens' Movement party candidate for the 2024 Mexican presidential election. He sadly only received 10.57% of the vote. In May of 2024, nine people were killed after part of a stage collapsed at one of his election rallies. 

Before Fame

In the year 2006, he earned his bachelor's degree in international relations at the ITESO, Universidad Jesuita de Guadalajara. He also holds two masters degrees.

Trivia

He was a member of the Partido de la Revolución Democrática. He served as state deputy in the Congress of Zacatecas from the year 2010 to the year 2013. In April of 2013, he announced he was joining the Citizen's Movement.

Family Life

From 2015 to 2016, he was married to actress Karina Gidi. In 2024, he featured his children, Luciano and Constanza, in his election campaign. His father, Felipe Álvarez Calderón, was the founder of the Communist Party of Zacatecas.
