Family Life

His brother David Marks, a psychologist, played the banjo. His brother took him to a gig at age 14, and he surreptitiously began playing the piano during the performance and was an immediate hit with the crowd.

He played at Louis Armstrong's 70th Birthday celebration Hello Louis in 1970 and was captured next to Armstrong in a photograph of the event's lavish birthday cake.
