Before Fame

After completing school, he worked as an intern in the City of London. Then he joined the Royal Artillery after graduating from Royal Military Academy in 2003. When he entered politics years later, he said it was to help with the care of veterans.

He wrote a book called "We Were Warriors: One Soldier's Story of Brutal Combat" about his childhood and his time in the military, especially his service in Afghanistan.

Family Life

He is from Kent, England. He grew up the son of a nurse and a banker with seven siblings. He is married to Felicity and they have three children, Audrey, Joey, and Amelie.
