Actor best known for portraying the role of rapper GZA on the Hulu Original Series, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, based on the notorious rap group Wu-Tang Clan. He has also appeared as Young Blood in the 2017 film Making moves, and he also played the role of Troy Brown in the film A Holiday Chance. His johnellxyoung Instagram account currently boasts over 120,000 followers, and he uses it to share highlights from his acting career.

Before Fame

He went to high school in The Bronx and Brooklyn but is originally from Staten Island. He also attended Clark Atlanta University and was invited to try out for the New York Knicks basketball team, making it to the last cut before suffering an injury.

In addition to portraying one of their members on-screen, he has also performed onstage with Wu-Tang Clan several times. Over the course of his career as an actor, he has appeared in more than ten different titles, from films to television series'. His entertainment credits also include working on the soundtrack for the TV series, Kold x Windy.

Family Life

In order to perfect GZA's mannerisms and speech pattern, his mother locked him in their kitchen with the TV replaying his music over and over again.
