About
Baseball coach who was known as the head coach for Orange Coast College for 27 years. A four time state junior college champion and named the national coach of the year by the American Baseball Coaches Association in 2019, he was tragically killed in the January 2020 helicopter crash that also claimed Kobe Bryant's life.
Before Fame
He was born the sixth of eight total children in Chicago, Illinois. He played baseball for the University of Houston between 1984-1985, where he would also graduate from in 1987 with his degree in physical education.
Trivia
He won his fourth state championship with Orange Coast College in 2019. He coached the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod Baseball League between 2012-2014.
Family Life
He passed alongside his wife Keri and daughter Alyssa in the 2020 helicopter crash. He was survived by his son J.J. and daughter Alexis.
