As a child, she studied languages including Castilian, Leonese, Galician-Portuguese, Catalan, French, and Latin.

She was a talented musician. She played the guitar, the clavichord, and the monochord. She appeared in many Spanish historical paintings.

Family Life

She married Austrian archduke Philip the Handsome. All six of their children became emperors and queens. Her parents were Queen Isabella I of Castile and King Ferdinand II of Aragon.
