Before Fame
He studied theater and acting at Unicamp - Sao Paulo. He then started entering casting calls for the Rede Globo network. He gained international attention in 1992 when he was cast in the recurring role of Xampu in the series Despedida de Solteiro.

He is known for having won the Best Actor award at the Festival Salesiano de Teatro Educativo in Sao Paulo for his role in the play Passaro da Manga in 1994.
Family Life
He was born and raised in Piracicaba, Sao Paulo, Brazil. He married fellow actress Valeria Alencar in 1996 and together they had two children named Rafael and Francisco.
