Croatian modernist painter whose best-known works included portraits, still-lifes, and landscapes, mostly of his native Dalmatia. He belonged to the Group of Three, Group of Four, and the Independent Group of Artists.
Before Fame
He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, Zagreb, and at the Accademia Internazionale in Florence.
