About
Professional embroiderer, entrepreneur, author, and artist whose work has been showcased in esteemed publications such as Nylon, Rolling Stone, and Vogue Magazines. She is perhaps best known for having founded the design and supply company Sublime Stitching in 2001. She is the award-winning author of numerous titles published by Chronicle Books including Stitch It Kit and Embroidered Effects.
Before Fame
Prior to shifting her focus to design, she was employed as a museum exhibition installation assistant. She is also a multi-instrumentalist who helped co-found the musical acts The Hidden Persuaders and The Playthings and frequently performed at SXSW alongside comedian Harvey Sid Fisher.
Trivia
The Smithsonian American Art Museum's Renwick Collection acquired her embroidered portrait, "La Llorona," as part of its permanent collection during the "40 Under 40" survey exhibition in 2013.

She is the daughter of an industrial and educational filmmaker who previously worked as a farmer in Nebraska.
