Emmy award-winning actress for her roles as Lana Gardener in Frasier and Regina Newley in Samantha Who? She was previously best known as Charlene Frazier Stillfield on the CBS sitcom Designing Women. Other notable television roles include season-long roles in FOX's 24 and FX's Fargo. She was cast in a lead role for another FX show Legion in 2016. She began starring in the TV show Hacks in 2021, for which she won two Emmy Awards.

After graduating college, she appeared in many stage performances in Seattle and New York City.

Her work in the 2000 Broadway revival of The Man Who Came to Dinner earned her a Tony Award nomination. She has won 5 Emmy Awards throughout her career and has been nominated for over 10.

Family Life

She married Richard Gilliland in 1987; the couple welcomed a son in 1989 and adopted a daughter in 2009. They also had a child named Connor Douglas Gilliland.
