He played quarterback at the University of Louisville, recording 7,024 passing yards and 44 touchdowns during his career.

Trivia

He never made it into the NFL but put together an impressive career in the Arena Football League, winning the ArenaBowl title four times as quarterback of the Tampa Bay Storm and he was named league MVP in 1992.

Family Life

His older brother Jon Gruden coached the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a Super Bowl Championship in 2003 and became a widely popular NFL analyst for ESPN.
