American stage actor He is best known for his role as Elder Cunningham in The Book of Mormon on the first national and West End tours, for which he received an Olivier Nomination for Best Lead Actor in a Musical. He also has various acting and voice acting credits for Supernatural, Modern Family, 2 Broke Girls, How I Met Your Mother, Marvel's Agent Carter, Ugly Betty, The Good Wife, American Dad, and Family Guy. 

Before Fame

He graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. He made his Broadway debut as William Barfee in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

Trivia

He holds an adjunct faculty position at the University of Southern California's School of Dramatic Arts. In 2021, he appeared in 5 episodes of American Crime Story. 

Family Life

He was raised in Toms River, New Jersey in a Conservative Jewish family. In 2010 he married Jeffrey Marshek Gertner. Together they have a son and live in Los Angeles.
