About

Multi award-winning Singaporean chef, chocolatier, and entrepreneur who rose to fame for her astonishing edible artistic installations. She is the founder of 2am: dessert bar as well as a 2,000-square-foot culinary research and development lab called 2am: lab. She is known for her self-titled brand Janice Wong Singapore, which she has presented through pop-up shops across the nation, as well as Janice Wong MGM, which she launched at MGM Cotai in Macau, China. She is also the author of numerous books, including Kochi Yuzu and A Taste of Kochi Citrus. 

Before Fame

After graduating from the National University of Singapore, where she studied economics, she went on to earn her pastry diploma from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France. She studied as a pastry trainee at upscale restaurants including Les Amis in Singapore and Room 4 Dessert in Manhattan, NY.

Trivia

Her many accolades include the title of Pastry Chef of the Year, which she received at the World Gourmet Summit Awards in 2011, 2013, and 2015. Her lounge 2am: dessert bar was named Best Dessert Spot by SG Magazine for 3 consecutive years. She was also named Best Pastry Chef by World's 50 Best Restaurants: Asia in 2013 and 2014.

Family Life

For Mother's Day 2021, she shared a loving tribute to her mom on her janicewong2am Instagram account. She also praised her father for his inspiring work ethic in an interview with Prestige, after she was named one of its 40 Under 40 class of 2020 laureates. The outlet later also honored her as a Prestige Woman of Power in 2024.
