King of Scotland from 1488 until his death at the Battle of Flodden in 1513. He was the last monarch from Great Britain to be killed in battle.
Before Fame
He became fluent in Latin and Spanish. He also learned French, German, Flemish and Italian. His nurse as a child was Agnes Turing, who was the wife of an Edinburgh burgess.
Trivia
He was a patron of the arts and was interested in the law, literature and science. He was the last Scottish monarch known to have spoken Gaelic.

He was succeeded by his son James V.
