Jamal Browner

About

Athlete known as one of the world's best deadlifters. In September 2022, he successfully locked out a raw 1,003 lbs deadlift at the United States Powerlifting Association Raw Pro in North Kansas City. He is known for his traditional sumo stance with a double overhand hook grip.  He has earned more than 200 followers on his jamal_b15 Instagram account.

Before Fame

He began weight lifting when he was about 12 years old. In high school, he played football, ran track and unsuccessfully tried out for the basketball team. He got a scholarship for Reinhardt University but had to drop out as he could not afford the tuition. He eventually earned an undergraduate degree at Albany State University.

Trivia

In 2020, he was featured in an article in Men's Health. In 2017, he was issued with a suspension after testing positive for the banned drug Dehydrochloromethyltesterone, also known as Turinabol.

Family Life

After graduating high school, he moved in with his mother.
