Jake Bates

About

Football player and athlete who is best known as a team member of the Houston Texans, Michigan Panthers, and Detroit Lions. In March of 2024, his 64-yard field goal set the record for the longest field goal in United Football League history.

Before Fame

He attended the University of Central Arkansas, Texas State University, and University of Arkansas.  He played college soccer and football.

Trivia

He worked as a brick salesman at Acme Brick in Northwest Houston. He is a Christian and referred to his faith in interviews. In Week 7 of the 2024 season, Bates kicked a 44-yard game-winning field goal as the Lions defeated the Minnesota Vikings, 31-29, also being awarded NFC special teams Player of the Week for this feat.

Family Life

He got engaged to Presley Folkerts. His parents are Jonathan and Mariana Bates. He has siblings named Jordan, Cole, and Travis.
