Jacob Blake

About

Black American man who was shot at numerous times by a police officer named Rusten Sheskey during an incident in Kenosha, Wisconsin on August 23, 2020. Sheskey fired seven shots and four of them landed in Blake's back. Blake was left paralyzed after the incident. 

Before Fame

He grew up in Evanston, Illinois and was a member of his high school wrestling team.

Trivia

Police first arrived on the scene of Blake's shooting in response to a 911 domestic violence call that was made by Blake's girlfriend. 

Family Life

He has two sisters named Zietha and Megan. His grandfather, Jacob Blake Sr., was a reverend and civil rights activist who led marches following the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. 

Associated With

Following Blake's altercation with police, a number of athletes across the United States led boycotts against their sporting events, including NBA stars LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
