Stand-up comic and voice artist who was known as the King of Deadpan, as he would deliver jokes in a low-key, unassuming manner. He was a regular fixture on the Merv Griffin Show and he also spent time working as Judy Garland's opening act.
Before Fame
Before stumbling into stand-up, he worked a variety of menial jobs throughout the nation. His buddy, Dick Brooks, claimed that most of these gigs took place in strip clubs.

In 1969, he voiced the character of Frosty the Snowman on a CBS holiday special.

He was married to Hazel Vernon until his death in 1987, after he suffered a heart attack.
