Before Fame

He studied at the Conservatoire of Amsterdam where he was awarded the Dutch Prize of Excellence two times, the first as a cellist and the second as a pianist.

Trivia

He became the conductor of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Arnhem in 1932.

His father was organist and conductor Jacobus Hendrikus Bastiaan Spaanderman Sr.
