About

Canadian illustrator famous for her award-winning work in children's literature. Popular books of hers include Jane, the Fox and Me and Louis Undercover by Fanny Britt, Spork and Virginia Wolf by Kyo Maclear, and Cloth Lullaby by Amy Novesky. She has won the Governor General's Award for Children's Literature three times in her career.

Before Fame

She studied fine arts and graphic design while she was in college. 

Trivia

Three of her picture books were named as The New York Times's Best Illustrated Books of the Year. She was selected for inclusion in Best American Comics in the year 2019. She won the Joe Shuster Award for Outstanding Artist in the year 2013.

Family Life

She entered a Christmas art contest as a child after her family had recently moved across the country.
