German equestrian and world champion in dressage known for competing in the Olympics six times, winning 12 medals including seven of them gold, and for holding the record for the most Olympic medals won by any equestrian athlete as of 2023. She is also known for winning nine World Championships and 17 European Championships. 

Before Fame

She had a passion for horseback riding, especially in dressage, from a young age. She did not compete until she was 17 in the year 1986, when she began getting coached. She participated in her first Olympic event in 1992 and won her first gold medal during the same year. She has a degree in law and worked as an attorney until she became a professional dressage rider in the year 2004. 

Trivia

She had a computer game created and named after her in 2007 called, "Isabell Werth - Reitsport." In the game, the player can participate in a simulation of equation events with her acting as a coach and giving advice and feedback to the player. She has won gold at every Olympic Games she has participated in. She was elected president of the International Dressage Riders' Club in 2020. 

Family Life

She was born and raised in Sevelen, Germany. Her parents encouraged her passion for riding horses and connected her with her dressage coach when she was just 17.
