Before Fame
He graduated from Politecnico di Milano with a degree in engineering in 1928 and from IUAV in 1949 with a degree in architecture. He pioneered such prominent events as CIAM and the INU conferences.
Trivia
He and Luigi Caccia Dominioni founded the Azucena Agency, a design firm, in 1947.
Family Life
He came from a line of architects that included his father, Arnaldo Gardella, and his namesake, Ignazio Gardella, Sr. He first entered into professional architecture by working with his father.
