Politician and military leader who became the 4th President of Egypt after Anwar Sadat's assassination in 1981 and held the office for twenty years. He led his country for over thirty years. He was succeeded by Mohamed Hussein Tantawi.
Before Fame
He served as an instructor for the Egyptian Air Force Academy for almost a decade.
Trivia
He stepped down after 18 days of demonstrations during the 2011 Egyptian revolution and was sentenced to life imprisonment the following year. He died at the age of 91 in February of 2020.
Family Life
He got married to Suzanne Mubarak in 1959, and the couple had two children together.
