Before Fame

He was educated at Kamrup Academy School, Guwahati and Cotton College for his undergraduate education. He also has a law degree and was a practicing attorney before starting his political career in 2001.

Family Life

He is from India. He grew up with six siblings. His wife is named Riniki Bhuyan Sarma, and they have a son, Nandil and a daughter, Sukanya.
