Olympic swimmer and athlete who primarily competes in the men's 400-meter, 800-meter and 1500-meter freestyle events. As a member of the Norwegian men's national team, he has raced at the World Aquatic Championships and the European Aquatic Championships.
Before Fame
As a teenager, he competed at the 2014 European Junior Swimming Championships. At the time, he had scholarship offers from Stanford University and UC Berkeley.
Trivia
He won his first career medal as a professional during the 2015 European Aquatic Championships. He finished bronze in the men's 1500-meter freestyle event. As a result of the popularity that he gained at the 2024 Summer Olympics, he was named the "Olympic Muffin Man" due to his love for chocolate muffins.
