The first In-N-Out Burger was opened in 1948 in Los Angeles, California.

It only took a couple of years for five more restaurants to open up and at the time of his death, a total of 18 stores was known to be open.

He founded the fast food chain alongside his wife Esther Snyder. His granddaughter is Lynsi Snyder.
