About
A German organic chemist who won the 1930 Nobel Prize in chemistry for his research in haemin and chlorophyll. He committed suicide in Munich after all of his work was destroyed in a fire during the last days of World War II.
Before Fame
He obtained his medical degree in 1908, after studying at the Universities of Lausanne and Marburg.
Trivia
The lunar crater, "Fischer", was named in his honor during 1976.
