Austrian physician and researcher notable for his early research on atypical neurology in children. He is the namesake of Asperger syndrome, which was subsumed into autism spectrum disorder in 2013. He wrote over 300 publications on psychological disorders, but his work did not gain significant traction until after his death in the 1980s.
