Monarch and king of Nepal who reigned from 2001 to 2008. He was the last king of the Shah dynasty of Nepal. He also served as chairman of the King Mahendra Trust for Nature Conservation starting in 1982.

He is from Kathmandu, Nepal. He graduated from Tribhuvan University. He served as king from 1950-1951 when he was a young child since his grandfather took political exile in India.
Trivia
He is the only person in the history of Nepal to have been king twice. He succeeded to the throne after his nephew Prince Dipendra passed away from self-inflicted wounds.

He married Queen Komal of Nepal in 1970. His children are Paras Shah and Prerana Shah Singh. His parents are Mahendra of Nepal, and Indra, Crown Princess of Nepal. His siblings are Birendra of Nepal, Prince Dhirendra of Nepal, and Princess Sharada Shah of Nepal. His grandchildren are Hridayendra Shah, Princess Purnika of Nepal, and Kritika Shah.
