He started his career working for the CBC in Edmonton where he covered the Edmonton Oilers. He then joined the TSN network as a reporter in 1990. He started his play-by-play coverage in 1994 when he covered the Memorial Cup.

He was inducted into the International Ice Hockey Federation's Hall of Fame in 2013 where he was also awarded the Paul Loicq Award for his contributions as a broadcaster.
