From 2009 until his death in 2014, this Indian Bharatiya Janata Party leader served the Beed constituency as a member of the Lok Sabha (lower Indian parliamentary house). While in office, he briefly held the position of Minister of Rural Development.
Before Fame
Prior to being elected to the Lok Sabha, Munde served five terms in the Maharashtra State Legislative Assembly and eventually became Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

Tragically, he was killed at the age of sixty four in a traffic accident.
Family Life
Born in Parli, Maharashtra, to Pandurangrao and Limbabai Munde, he grew up with siblings named Saraswati, Pandit, Venkatrao, and Manikrao. His marriage to Pradnya Mahajan resulted in children named Pankaja, Pritam, and Yashashri.

Like fellow Indian politician Arun Jaitley, Munde was a prominent member of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
