Jordanian film-maker and women's rights activist. She is lauded as Jordan's first female cinema director. She has written, directed, and produced over 250 documentaries and short films. In 2016 she began producing a weekly report on "Ro'ya TV" which focuses on the success of local women. She founded No Budget Films in 2004 a production company aimed at helping aspiring young filmmakers.

Her career in film began as assistant director to renowned Egyptian director Youssef Chahine.

In 2015 she was elected as one of UN Women's Beijing Gender Equality Champions, and in 2016 she won a Woman Who Soar award.
