Geloy Concepcion

About

Filipino-American photographer and content creator, known for his public art project on Instagram where he asked people to anonymously share the things they want to say but never have and paired their responses with his art. His Instagram, geloyconcepcion, has reached over 800,000 followers.

Before Fame

He completed his degree in Advertising at the University of Santo Tomas College of Fine Arts and Design and started joining exhibitions in 2011. He has exhibited his work in the Philippines, Cambodia, Taiwan, Singapore, India, and the Netherlands. He was an artist-in-residence at Casa San Miguel in Zambales from 2012 to 2013, and was a member of Pilipinas Street Plan. His work was included in the 2016 Pride Photo Awards and the 2017 Human Rights Arts and Film Festival. His experimental approach to photography, drawing and street art is intertwined with his personal journey as a migrant Filipino in the U.S. 

Trivia

He started his "Things you wanted to say but never did" project in November 2019 to provide a safe place for people to share the things they find hard to confront when they're alone. The project was published in the form of a photographic journal in June of 2023. 

Family Life

He currently resides in the San Francisco Bay area with his wife, Bea, and their daughter, who was born in 2017.
