Actor most illustriously known for playing the role of Raj in the Punjabi film Pinky Moge Wali in the year 2012. He earned a role in the soap opera Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi before being cast in the Punjabi film Yaaran Naal Baharan. He is widely celebrated for his performance as Abrar in the Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif-starring Blockbuster film Ek Tha Tiger. His role would be reprised with a promotion to Captain Abrar just five years later, in the movie Tiger Zinda Hai.
Before Fame
He earned his college degree in mechanical engineering from Gurdaspur, Batala. After winning titles like Mr. Punjab and Mr. North India in the year 2000, he was offered the opportunity to appear in a music video for the song "Jattan de Putt Sadh ho Gaye." He went on to appear in more than 60 music videos (in both Hindi and Punjabi) and made his big screen debut in the Punjabi film Yaaran Naal Baharan.
Trivia
He competed in the 1st season of Sony TV's presentation of Fear Factor and went on to be crowned the winner of the thriller/reality competition series. His performance in the Bollywood movie Ek Tha Tiger led him to be awarded with the 20th National Award from the Journalist Association of India in 2012.

He is the son of S. Gurdev Singh Chahal and Sdn. Daljit Kaur. His mother was a teacher and his father was a school principal. He has 2 sisters and 1 older brother.
