Her other publications include a novella called Le Phénix Conjugal; two collections of fairy tales called La Jeune Américaine ou les Contes marins and Les Belles Solitaires; and four novels called Le Beau-frère supposé, La Jardinière de Vincennes, Le juge prévenu, and Mémoires de Mesdemoiselles de Marsange.
Family Life
She is the daughter of Jean Barbot and Dame Suzanne Allaire. In 1706, she married Jean-Baptiste Gaalon de Barzay, lord of Villeneuve, a member of an aristocratic family from Poitou and a lieutenant-colonel of infantry at the Berville Regiment. They had one daughter together. She became a widow at the age of 26.
