Deputy Chairman of the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party who organized young African Americans for the NAACP. He founded the Rainbow Coalition, a political organization that included the Black Panthers and other parties. The Federal Bureau of Investigation identified him as a serious threat.
Before Fame
He wanted to play center field for the New York Yankees before enrolling at Triton Junior College in nearby River Grove, Illinois, where he majored in pre-law.
Trivia
He was killed while sleeping in his apartment during a raid by a tactical unit of the Cook County, Illinois State's Attorney's Office, in conjunction with the Chicago Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
