Greek politician who was the president of the Panhellenic Socialist Movement and co-founded both the Democratic Alignment and the Movement for Change.

Before Fame

She was in the socialist union while she attended the University of Athens. She worked as a banker for the National Bank of Greece starting in 1986. She began her political career when she became the Hellenic Parliament for PASOK and represented the Athens A constituency in 2000. She resigned in 2002 to run in local elections. 

Trivia

She was involved in the government formed by Prime Minister George Papandreou. In 2009, was appointed Deputy Minister of Health and Welfare, and in 2010 was appointed as Alternate Minister of Education, Lifelong Learning, and Religious Affairs.

She was born in Athens, Greece. She was the daughter of Georgios Gennimatas, a popular politician in the Panhellenic Socialist Movement. She was married to Andreas Tsounis and they had three children.
