He was an outfielder in the baseball minor leagues. He then moved to Major League Baseball, competing in the Western Major Baseball League. In the 1960s, he began a television career and worked at CFCF-TV in Montreal and CFTO-TV in Toronto. In 2004, he was nominated for the Ford C. Frick Award.
