About

Photographer most famous for his portraits of popular Latin music artists. His Instagram is a grid full of his work and the evolution of his style; his erickfernandoq account has earned more than 60,000 followers. He started working as a freelancer while at university, but soon found himself with high-quality equipment and evolved creative skills from the continual stream of work that gave him the confidence to reach out to social influencers and artists in Latin America. This gave him a footing in the industry that he could use to be sought after instead, thus allowing him to make a permanent career from his art.

Before Fame

His first photographs were taken on an iPod Touch starting in 2015. The iPod was a present given to him while he attended university. He originally studied Logistics and Transportation Engineering at the Polytechnic School of the Littoral (also known as Espol), believing he would follow in his father's footsteps. However, a friend asked him to take photographs of them, and the rest of his career laid out after that as he continued to work within the medium. His early work also includes landscapes, vistas, and selfies.

Trivia

He has ambitions to gain a name for himself amongst artists popular in the United States and English language audiences, so his current home base is out of Miami, Florida when he isn't on tour with artists.

Family Life

His mother is a doctor and his father works as a sailor. He was born in Loja but his family moved to and raised him primarily in Guayaquil, Ecuador when he was 8 years old.
