He started his YouTube channel in 2010. Before that he completed his many degrees from the Michigan Technological University and the University of Illinois. 

Trivia

One of his most popular videos is about the design of the aluminum can. Roman Mars of the podcast, "99% Invisible" called it one of the greatest YouTube videos of all time with 9 million views. Among his most viewed YouTube videos, with close to 900K views, is one called "The Engineering of Duct Tape."

Family Life

He lives in Urbana, Illinois with his wife. They have two children together.
