Before Fame

Interested in music from an early age, she would travel by train to her nearest Tower Records shop to buy the only non-Chinese music they had, developing a love for Weezer and The Smashing Pumpkins, amongst others.

Family Life

Her father is English and her mother is Chinese. Her family left Hong Kong when she was twelve after Hong Kong was no longer a British colony. During the production of her second album, Virtue, her atheist fiancee underwent a spiritual awakening and left her as a result.
