Brazilian singer-songwriter best known for songs such as "Gideão e os Trezentos," "Meu Deus é Fiel," "Vencendo de Pé," and "No Tempo D'Ele," among countless others. Her career, spanning over several decades, has included dozens of album releases, including "Barulho de gloria," "Oleiro," and "Benção." She also released a 25th-anniversary DVD in celebration of her ministry in the year 2008.
Before Fame
She recorded her first LP, titled "Sagrada Lei," in the year 1985 when she was just 18 years old. She had been offered the opportunity to record the album after a performance she gave in her church of the 1981 song "Silêncio" by gospel artist Lena Silva.
Trivia
She earned a Best Regional Album of the Year Award from the Brazilian Music Awards in the year 2018. She has also earned several distinctions from the Maranhão Music Awards, including Most Popular Song in the year 2014. Her lyrics have notably included references to Bible verses and other religious themes.
Family Life
After marrying priest Erivaldo Mariano in 1991, she welcomed two sons named Leônidas Neto and Erivaldo Junior. Both of her sons are also composers. Mariano sadly passed away from cancer in 2018. She went on to marry pastor Josué Morais in December 2021.
Associated With
In 2011, she released what many consider to be her most famous album, titled "Trajetória de um Fiel," which was a collaborative effort with gospel singer Samuel Mariano. Her musical style is said to have been inspired by Elba Ramalho.
