Modernist artist who painted brightly colored landscapes and uniquely angled scenes of Zagreb. He preferred to express himself through oils and pastels and became known for the subtleties of his color harmonies and his dynamic approach to brushstrokes.
Before Fame
He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, Zagreb, in 1930. He joined the Earth Group during the decade that ensued.
Trivia
He designed stage sets for the Croatian National Theatre, the Drama Theatre, and the Puppet Theatre.
Family Life
He moved with his family to Zagreb in 1909.
