Former NBA guard who spent most of his career with the Atlanta Hawks, he then went on to become a successful coach. He led the Boston Celtics to an NBA Championship in 2008 and became head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers in 2013. He'd later serve as head coach for the Philadelphia 76ers from 2020 until 2023.

MLB All-Star Ken Singleton is his cousin. He married Kristen Rivers in 1986. His oldest son Jeremiah played college basketball at Indiana and his second oldest son Austin became a first round pick of the New Orleans Hornets in 2012. He also has a daughter named Callie and another son named Spencer.
