WNBA guard who led the University of Connecticut to three NCAA Championships before being drafted first overall by the Phoenix Mercury in 2004. She led the Mercury to WNBA Championships in 2007 and 2009 and was named WNBA MVP and Finals MVP in 2009.

Before Fame

During her career at Don Antonio Lugo High School in California, she received the 2000 Naismith National High School Player Award as well as the 1999 and 2000 Ms. Basketball State Player of the Year Awards.

Trivia

She was selected to 5 WNBA All-Star teams between 2005 and 2011 and led the league in scoring five times during that same stretch.

Family Life

Her father, Mario, was a professional soccer player. She has an older sister named Jessika. In 2017, she married former teammate Penny Taylor. They welcomed a son named Leo in March of 2018.
