During his professional career, he primarily played in countries like Brazil, France, Portugal, and Turkey. After retiring in 2014, he began his professional coaching career as an assistant manager for the Flamengo Sports Club.

He initially began playing soccer as a young boy growing up. He would eventually go on to sign his first professional club contract with Nova Iguaçu FC as a teenager.
