An investigation into Andrews' claims found that Clay Bertrand, the man from whom Andrews said he had received a telephone call, either did not exist or was not named Clay Bertrand. A Louisiana business executive named Clay Shaw was questioned for potential ties to the Kennedy assassination, but was later cleared of all involvement in the crime.
